The Junk - diving safari in Thailand
Safari yacht The Junk is not just another safari boat, but a ship with a long history and a certain chic.
The ship was built in the Malaysian city of Penang in 1962 and was originally an ordinary three-masted junk - a traditional cargo ship in Southeast Asia.
Traditionally for Southeast Asia, the ship's hull was made of teak wood. The ship was originally intended to transport coal along the Andaman coast - from Burma to Malaysia.
In 1985, the ship was rebuilt with a deck and cabins and began to be used as a charter corral. In 1997, the ship was purchased by a new owner, rebuilt again and began to be used as a diving safari ship.
The ship The Junk has repeatedly participated in the filming of films - for example, in the film from the Bond series - The Man with the Golden Gun.
Today, The Junk is a comfortable safari yacht that can sail either under sail or using a conventional engine. The length of the ship is 33 meters. The ship is equipped with 6 cabins with private bathrooms, designed to accommodate 18 divers.
In summer, the ship runs mini dive safaris in the southern direction of Thailand, and in autumn and winter the ship carries out diving safaris to the Similan Islands.
The Junk is rightfully considered one of the top safari ships in Thailand. A distinctive ship with an excellent crew attracts divers from all over the world.
Andaman Coast Dive College recommends this ship for those who not only want to dive into the warm waters of the Andaman Sea, but also want to immerse themselves in the history of the Southeast Asian navy.

All prices are in Thai Baht per person.
