Diving spots in Phuket - Our best dive sites
The island of Phuket is located in the South-West of Thailand on the coast of the Andaman Sea, which is part of the Indian Ocean. Its fairly close location to the equator provides comfortable conditions for diving all year round.
Water temperatures range from 26 to 32 degrees, and visibility is usually between 15 to 30 meters. The variety of underwater terrain makes Phuket's dive sites suitable for both recreational and technical diving.
The main dive sites for daily diving are located south and east of Phuket.
The variety of underwater life will not leave you indifferent, and the colorful soft corals will delight you with their diversity.
Koh Racha Yai Island
Racha Yai Island is located approximately 28 kilometers south of Phuket. The fairly close location, as well as a wide range of depths and a large number of dive sites make this island one of the most popular diving destinations.
Koh Racha Noi Island
Racha Noi Island is located several kilometers south of Racha Yai Island. Unlike its neighbor, the island of Racha Noi is uninhabited and the snow-white sandy beaches of this island will delight you with its pristine purity.
King Cruiser Ferry
The King Cruiser ferry is a Japanese-built ship that transported passengers between Phuket and the Phi Phi Islands. The ship was designed for 600 passengers and had three decks. The ferry was 85 meters long and 25 meters wide.

Koh Doc Mai Island
Koh Dok Mai Island is located east of Phuket, on the way to the Phi Phi Islands. In fact, the island of Koh Dok Mai is a cliff with sheer walls rising almost 30 meters above the water. Underwater, the walls go to a depth of 30 meters, but, if desired, you can easily reach 40 meters.
Shark Point
Shark Point is a group of four underwater rocks - pinnacles, the highest of which protrudes two meters above sea level. A group of rocks stretches from north to south at depths of up to 25 meters. The first two pinnacles are the most visited because with strong currents, which in this place is more the rule than the exception, not all divers can even reach the third pinnacle.
Anemone Reef - Wikiwand Anemone Reef
Anemone reef is an underwater rock - a pinnacle, which rises from a depth of about 25 meters and reaches a depth of 4 meters. It was against this rock that the ferry King Cruiser hit and sank nearby - just a couple of hundred meters away. The upper part of the rock is almost completely covered with multi-colored anemones, which is why the dive site got its name.
Phi Phi Islands
The Phi Phi Islands are a group of islands located approximately 50 kilometers east of Phuket. This is one of the most remote destinations for daily diving. Most dive boats take 2.5-3 hours to reach Phi Phi.
