What you will do during the DSD program in Phuket
Introduction and Briefing
You will start with a brief orientation session conducted by our certified dive instructor. During this session, you will learn about basic scuba diving equipment, safety protocols, hand signals, and underwater communication.
Confined Water Session
After the briefing, when the boat arrives at the dive site, you will practice basic scuba skills in a shallow water area. Under the supervision of our instructor, you will learn how to use scuba equipment, breathe underwater, clear the mask and the regulator and control buoyancy.
Open Water Dives
Once you are comfortable and confident with the basic skills, you will start a dive under еsupervision of your instructor. You will explore colorful reefs of Andaman Sea, observe marine life (typical encounters are parrotfish, pufferfish, anemonefish, butterflyfish, barracudas, lionfish, different types of snappers and groupers, moray eels and turtles) and experience weightlessness beneath the surface. We do 2 dives at the different locations of the beautiful Racha Islands and for some destinations you can also do a third dive (extra 1000 baht).
No Certification Required
Unlike scuba diving certification courses, the Discover Scuba Diving experience does not require any prior diving experience or certification. It's designed for beginners who want to try scuba diving in a safe and supervised setting before committing to a full certification course.
Equipment Provided
We will provide all necessary scuba diving equipment for you, including wetsuit, BCD (buoyancy control device), regulator, mask and fins.

Diving with children in Phuket
Trying scuba diving together can be a great part of a family holiday in Phuket. Children aged 10 and over can join our regular Discover Scuba Diving trips and explore the underwater world together with their parents.
They will learn the basic skills and dive under the close supervision of a certified instructor, making the experience comfortable and easy even for first-time divers.
Diving for children aged 8-9
Children aged 8 to 9 can also try scuba diving through a Bubblemaker or Scuba Rangers session in shallow, confined water.
These programs are a fun and carefully supervised introduction to breathing underwater and learning the first basic scuba skills.

Diving For Beginners FAQ
We completely understand that, for most people, going scuba diving is an exciting experience that naturally comes with plenty of questions. Below, we’ll do our best to answer some of the most common ones.
What should I do if my ears hurt or I start to panic underwater?
Don't worry about your ears - your instructor will explain and demonstrate how to equalize your ears during the briefing.
Your dive will begin in shallow water, where you can ascend smoothly to the surface if necessary and, of course, learn to equalize your ears yourself. Only once you feel comfortable underwater will your instructor suggest going deeper.
Can I go diving if I can't swim at all?
There's nothing wrong with that - in fact, diving is even easier than swimming - you don't have to stay afloat. But the most important thing is that our instructor will assist you at every stage of your dive, and even if you can't move underwater on your own, they'll "pull" you along underwater by holding your hand or your tank valve.
Is it dangerous and will sharks attack me?
Diving, especially our beginner program, is a relatively safe activity. At our dive center, we use only high-quality equipment that undergoes regular maintenance, and our professional instructors will ensure your dives are as safe as possible. Insurance is included in the price of our diving excursions.
As for sharks and other dangerous marine animals, you definitely don't have to worry – there are no dangerous sharks in the Andaman Sea, and other underwater creatures certainly won't attack you. So just follow a simple rule: listen to your instructor and don't touch anything underwater, and everything will be fine!
